Daughter of Sequim,

Her dark form gracefully traversing turbulent waters,

Could not nurse her young calf,

Slowing down…

Fish farms, 

oil spills, 

massive boat propellers –

The natural cycle of salmon broken.

Like the Raven – the bringer of light

to those who dwell in the darkness,

who are oblivious to plastic devouring the sea,

the vanishing salmon,

and the slow decline of humanity.
